Lewes and Uckfield staff and customers alike congregated on Isfield CC for the annual SPS cricket match on a hot and balmy Friday evening. The teams were split into Lewes and Uckfield teams through a mixture of staff and customers from both sides. With the conditions there was a lot of swing in the bowling resulting in a lot of wide calls from the umpire but both teams produced some really quite *ahem* entertaining cricket displays.
Uckfield were put into bat first and after a slow start were at 13-4 plus wides after catches a-plenty. They then rallied to eventually score 105 with some good batting displays.
Lewes were then put in for the chase but started poorly making 0-2 plus wides after some more good catches in the field. They then also rallied and went on to make an eventual 116 winning the match just in time for Joe Walton to cook up a feast of hot dogs and burgers.
A thoroughly friendly and enjoyable evening in a beautiful location.
