Spark Tester

The spark tester is designed to show that a current is traveling through the HT lead to the ignition electrode. This is done via an LED inside the spark tester.

  • Remove the HT lead from the ignition electrode and place the spark tester onto the back of the ignition electrode.
  • Place the HT lead onto the back of the spark tester and get the boiler to fire up
  • As the electrode tries to ignite, the spark tester will show if there is a current going through the HT lead to the electrode.
  • If there’s no ignition then the Electrode will need a closer look and possibly need replacing. If the spark tester does not light up and there is no ignition, check the HT lead, spark generator box, and PCB.

The spark tester is designed as a visual aid and must not be used as a replacement for testing.
